Please allow 90 minutes for your experience: 60 minutes for the game itself and 20-30 minutes for the pre-game briefing, debrief and team photo opportunity.
Please arrive at the time for which your game is booked (or up to 5 minutes early).
BSS House is accessible to wheelchair users through the front reception entrance and all of our doorways are wide enough to facilitate easy access. Our Professor Dunstan game is the most accessible, while our Sub Terra game requires more manoeuvring because of its layout and some of the puzzles are wall-mounted so are harder to reach when seated. When a wheelchair is in use we also recommend a reduced team size as follows: Professor Dunstan – max.4 players; Sub Terra – max.3 players.
Physical strength and high levels of agility are not required to play our games. Sound effects and background music are used to add to the experience and some clues may be delivered by audio. If you have any special requirements then we are happy to discuss these in advance so that we can try to accommodate all players.
We recommend a minimum age of 10 years so that all guests get the most out of their experience. Any individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised in the game room by at least one paying adult (18+) player.
None of our standard games are scary, gory or have a horror theme.
IMPORTANT: While our games are ideal for mixed-age family groups and teenagers, they are less suitable for children’s parties.
No. All bookings are private, so once you have booked a game slot it is reserved exclusively for your team.
Plenty of free parking is available directly outside of BSS House on a first come, first served basis.
Safety is extremely important to us and players are able to easily exit the game room at any point should they require to do so. This will be explained during the pre-game briefing.
Whilst we accept that personal experiences will vary, our aim is for players to be so engrossed in their adventure that 60 minutes pass in a flash. Our game rooms are of a reasonable overall size and have ceilings between 1.9m and 2.3m tall.
Of course not! Our games are designed to be challenging and require players to use a varied set of skills in order to succeed, but with some lateral thinking, a pinch of common sense and (most importantly) teamwork you should go far.
If you do get stuck then your Games Master can provide hints to point you in the right direction while leaving the puzzling firmly in your hands… and even if you don’t complete the challenges in time, you’ll still have had a fun time with us! If you prefer to receive clues only when requested, please let us know during the pre-game briefing.
If you require reading glasses, please do make sure to bring these with you.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to take photos or videos within the game rooms as we don’t want to spoil anything for future guests. Instead, there will be an opportunity to take team photos after your session.
Whether you are planning a birthday party, a stag/hen do, a retirement event or something else, our Live Escape Experiences offer an unforgettable way to celebrate and have fun. We could even sneak a surprise into the room for one of your players, so if you have something special in mind just get in touch before booking and we will do our best to help.
No problem. You don’t need to notify us in advance – additional players can simply pay for their tickets when they arrive.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the maximum capacity of each room will still apply.
If you can only visit on a Tuesday or Wednesday (when we would normally be closed) we are happy to arrange a custom game slot. Just give us a call to arrange this.
Our online booking calendar will accept new bookings made more than 24 hours in advance of a particular game slot’s start time.
For last minute availability, call us on 07759 185264 and we’ll try our best to fit you in.
