Pieces of Eight
Spooky Edition 👻
This October we are dressing up our Pieces of Eight game for Halloween, giving it a creepy atmosphere.
All games played in October will be the ‘spooky edition’ of our game; the puzzles will remain the same.
The year is 1700 and the golden age of piracy is in full swing! Just five years ago, on 7th September 1695, Captain Avery led several pirate vessels to ambush a treasure-laden trading ship. The attack succeeded, with around £600,000 worth of jewels and golden coins stolen.
Despite a large bounty on his head, Avery has managed to evade the authorities and hasn’t been seen or heard of since. No-one knows what happened to his ill-gotten gains but spending such a large fortune would surely not have gone unnoticed, so you wager that most of the treasure remains hidden… and ripe for the taking!
As luck would have it, a member of Avery’s crew was recently captured with several mysterious crates in their possession. A few gold coins to the local officials, and you’ve been permitted an hour alone to examine them. Could they contain clues to where Avery’s vast fortune is hidden?

A Unique Sit-Down Escape Game Experience
Pieces of Eight is hosted in our own ‘medieval’ hall, complete with gargoyles, stained glass windows, wooden beams and decorative floor tiles. Your team will be seated at a long table and will tackle various crates packed full of our high-quality puzzles, props and mechanisms. This sit-down escape game experience mixes the thrill of puzzle solving with an immersive, yet comfortable atmosphere – perfect for experienced and first-time players alike!
This game is a re-implementation of our ‘Captain’s Treasure’ portable chests and it’s smaller cousin, ‘Pieces of Eight’, which was formerly hosted by Live Escape Salisbury. While we have added in brand new puzzles and adapted the overall flow and story, some challenges from the original games are unchanged – the ratio of new to existing content is about 50:50.
